- Original watercolour painting, depicting a Cornwall scene, with two boys fishing with lobster pots in a rock pool, this original work is entitled 'Lobster Pots, Cornwall', and is by the English artist Walter Herbert Allcott (1889-1951).- Signed lower leftWalter Herbert Allcott was born in Ladywood, Birmingham and studied at the Birmingham School of Art, afterwhich he became an art teacher for local authority schools, as well as art instructor to the Women’s Royal Naval Service. He initially painted portraits in oils, and later landscapes and architectural subjects in watercolour and pastel. He became a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
