Tim Shorten was born in Bolton, Lancashire, and studied at The Bolton College of Art & Design, Preston Polytechnic Department of Fine Art and Leeds Polytechnic. He worked as the Head of Art and Design at Altrincham Grammar School until becoming a full-time artist in 2017. He is an exhibited artist who includes Edward Hopper, Stanley Spencer and David Hockney among the various influences for his art, and his works are held in many private collections both in the UK and abroad.
