  • Large original 1970s watercolour painting, depicting thoroughbred horses, and portraits of a mare and foal side by side, this beautifully executed original work is by the Yorkshire artist Terry Logan (b.1939 ).

Terry Logan was born in Bingley, West Yorkshire, and attended art school in Keighley and Bradford.  He worked creating layouts of precision lathes for an engineering company, where he also met his wife.  He moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he landed a job with the world's biggest advertising agency, J Walter Thompson, and developed his skills as an artistic director. In 1973 he returned to England and opened an art gallery in Skipton, North Yorkshire, a risky move, but his artistic talent and shrewd business acumen meant he was able to make a success of it.  Today his paintings feature in collections around the world, and are so sought after that many are sold as limited edition prints too.
