Large original oil painting on canvas, depicting a bright springtime, countryside landscape, with a young family in a wildflower meadow beside a river, watching ducks pass by, in the foreground, and a house near to trees in blossom on the opposite bank. This serene, bucolic painting is by the English artist Ted Dyer (b.1940 ), and is a classic example of his uplifting work.
Ted Dyer was born in Bristol, and his younger years were spent in Devon and Somerset, where from an early age he would draw and paint. When his family moved to Cornwall in 1972, he devoted all his working energies to painting, concentrating on painting the South West Peninsula, giving his work a distinctive character. He paints places he knows, portraying them with soft colour, light and shade, and a feeling of warmth, friendliness and a relaxed atmosphere, whether that be a day at the beach or in the countryside. He is partly influenced by the early school of French plein-air, the Newlyn School and the British contemporary art scene. He is one of the UK's best known and, most collectable, contemporary artists who has, for over 45 years, shown his internationally acclaimed work thorugh his exhibitions, prints, art cards and books.- Signed lower right- Framed and ready to hang, in a bold, mottled-gilt frame- Painting size 76cm x 51cm (approx. 29 7/8 inches x 20 1/8 inches)- Overall frame size 88cm x 62.5cm (approx. 34 5/8 inches x 24 5/8 inches)- The painting is in excellent condition- The frame has some very minor nibbles to the apexes of some of the corners, otherwise it is in excellent condition- Fabulous centrepiece- Original gift- All paintings are carefully packaged to prevent damage during shipping- Please contact us for European and Worldwide shipping prices- If you have any questions about this item, please contact us and we will respond within an hour
