Sam Chadwick (1902-1992)
Original watercolour painting, depicting a farmhouse beside a river and a small waterfall, in a Yorkshire countryside landscape, by the popular listed Yorkshire artist Sam Chadwick (1902–1992)
Sam Chadwick was born in Yorkshire, and worked as an apprentice at the printing firm Alf Cooke’s, before eventually opening his studio in Wade Lane, Leeds. His atmospheric paintings in his signature 'wet brush' watercolour style have been much in demand, and since his death in 1992, his work has been increasingly difficult to source.
