£245.00Price
  • Superb, large original pastel painting, depicting a fishing party on a lush riverbank in a countryside landscape, with a group of fisherman sitting at a table in front of a small lodge, a Spaniel dog seated close by, while another fisherman casts off at the river's edge.  This beautiful original work is by the English landscape and wildlife artist Robert Nicholls.

Robert Nicholls worked in illustration and design up until 1973 when he moved to Wensleydale, in The Yorkshire Dales, and turned to art as a profession.  He works mainly in pastel and watercolour and is renowned for the accuracy and finish of his work, and his close affinity with the Dales has seen him commissioned by many local farmers to paint portraits of their prize sheep and cattle.  He is an award-winning artist who has exhibited widely, and as well as his works featuring in many private collections around the world, they have also been selected to feature in a number of books about The Dales.
