Original oil painting, beautifully presented in a bold gallery frame, depicting a brown dachshund, standing next to his blanket, on a tiled interior floor, looking up attentively. This superb painting is almost 'photorealistic' and is by the English artist Rob Hefferan (b.1968 ).
Rob Hefferan was born in Warrington, North West England, and initially studied Illustration at university, before controversially terminating his studies after a year due to feeling creatively restricted by the course. Instead he compiled a portfolio to showcase his ability and potential commercial worth, which was well received and led to a number of contracts, from high profile advertising campaigns to the provision of artwork for children’s books. Buoyed by this success he proceeded to work to achieve his eventual goal of becoming a professional contemporary artist in his own right.
