- Superb large original acrylic painting depicting a cock pheasant, game bird, foraging amongst fallen autumnal leaves, this near-photorealistic original work is by the renowned British wildlife artist Richard Whittlestone (b.1963 ).Richard Whittlestone was born in Yorkshire, and bought up on his family’s dairy farm. He started painting aged 5, sold his first painting at 13, held his first exhibition at 14, first appeared with the Society of Wildlife Artists at 22, and turned professional at 25.
