  • Original, still life, oil on canvas painting, depicting a bowl of fruit and a vase of flowers on a table, in front of a window, beautifully framed in a bold gallery frame, this evocative original painting is by the acclaimed Chinese artist Pei Yang (b.1971 ).
     
    Pei Yang was born in Yangzhou, China, and first studied art at his secondary school. After earning an art scholarship, he emigrated to Canada to study fine arts at the Ottawa School of Animation Art and at the Algonquin College. He has exhibited widely and won a number of awards for his painting and animation, including a prestigious 'Emmy'. He served on the board of directors of the Chinese Canadian Arts Council of Canada, and as a visual artist working in film animation, has participated in productions for Columbia Studios and DreamWorks. Today he works out of his base in Montreal, Canada.
