  • Superb original oil painting on board depicting a Magpie bird foraging amongst dandelions in a wildflower meadow, this fine-detailed, near photorealistic original work is by the listed contemporary British artist Paul James (b.1961 ).

     
    Paul James was born in Leicestershire, and is a self taught artist, who left art college to made a living a painting classic cars and commissions of pet dogs and cats, and became a professional artist in 1986. He currently lives in Southern Ireland, after his work outgrew his life living on a long boat. He spends time in the UK and USA where his work is becoming increasingly popular with collectors. He has won some major accolades including, finalist in 'Not the Turner Prize', the 'Addenda Award' from the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, 'People's Favourite' at the at the Royal West of England Academy, and in 2006 he was awarded Signature Membership of 'The Society of Animal Artists' based in New York.
