Large original oil painting on canvas, depicting a bright summer countryside landscape, with two young children playing in a stream with their toy yachts. This serene, bucolic painting is by the English artist Les Parson (b.1945 ), and is a classic example of his uplifting work.
Les Parson was born in Rochdale, Lancashire, and initailly worked in London as a Computer Engineer up until 1974, when he moved to Cornwall to work as an installer of Radar, Sonar and Ship to Shore radio on small fishing boats. Four years later, in 1978, after encouragement from several gallery owners, he became a full time artist and has never looked back. He is now an internationally recognised artist, renowned for his beautiful and quintessential paintings of the English countryside, which typically feature children exploring or at play.
