  • Superb original impasto oil painting on board depicting a view of Piccadilly Circus in London, with people at the entrance to the London underground station in the foreground, and the iconic advertising billboard and architecture of Piccadilly Circus beyond. This work has been created in an impressionist style, using the impasto method, where the paint is applied thickly, usually with a pallet knife, to create depth and texture, it is entitled 'Piccadilly Circus', and is by the Ukrainian artist Lana Okiro.
     
    Lana Okiro was born in the countryside of Western Ukraine where she grew up on a farm.  She always had an interest in art, drawing and copying illustrations from an early age, and studied Artistic Design and Education upon leaving school, improving her ability through self-training and practice. She initially taught art and worked in Interior Design before pursuing a career as a professional artist. Her work is inspired by The Impressionists, using bold strokes and bright colours, with her favoured medium being oils and her uplifting paintings are held in private collections and galleries across the UK.
