- Large original landscape oil painting on board, depicting a view of The Ardeche region in South East France, with blossoming trees before a chateaux in the foreground, and an expansive landscape beyond. The painting is entitled 'Spring in The Ardeche', and is by award-winning English artist Kenneth Denton (b.1932 ).Kenneth Raymond Denton was born in Chatham, Kent, and studied at the Rochester School of Art, (later The Medway College of Art) where he was awarded the Fairhain Memorial Prize. He later became apprenticed to a Master Painter and Gilder, and returned to study at the Medway College of Art. Following National Service he set up in business as a Decorative Artist, while continuing to exhibit his work. In the 1960's he taught at Maidstone College of Art and the Royal School of Military Engineering while attracting commissions for his sought after work from statesmen and corporations alike, and in 1969 he turned to painting full-time. He is a multi-award winning artist who has featured in magazines, books and on television.- Signed lower left- Signed and inscribed, with the title, by the artist verso- Gallery label verso- Framed and ready to hang, in a bold, light-gilt period frame, with a moulded hessian-covered slip- Painting size 59cm x 38cm (approx. 23 1/4 inches x 15 inches)- Frame size 77.5cm x 57.5cm (approx. 30 1/2 inches x 22 5/8 inches)- The painting is in excellent condition- The frame has one or two very minor, barely visible, dinks, otherwise it is in excellent condition
