Large original watercolour painting, depicting the River Coe flowing through the dramatic mountainous landscape of Glencoe, in the Highlands of Scotland, this atmospheric original work is by the listed English artist Keith Burtonshaw (1930-2008)
Keith Burtonshaw attended Penge Grammar School, he showed a great aptitude for art in his youth, spending hours studying the works of the great masters through reference books and physically visiting galleries. As an adult he toured the country capturing the mood and atmosphere of his favourite views, which included the Lake District. He mainly worked in watercolour, and particularly enjoyed painting landscapes, which were his lifelong interest, his handling of light makes his paintings both technically accomplished and charming. He was a member of the British Watercolour Society, the London Sketch Club, the United Society of Artists, the National Society of Painters, and Bromley Art Society. He also exhibited at the Mall Galleries, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in London.
