Serene original watercolour painting, depicting two people driving a cart pulled by four donkeys in a South African landscape, by the South African artist Johnnie de Kock (b.1937 ).

Johnnie De Kock was born in the Transvaal, South Africa, and studied art at the Pretoria Teachers Training College. He initially taught in Pretoria, and was then seconded to the Goudstad Teachers Training College as Lecturer in Art, before being permanently appointed Art lecturer at the Pretoria Teachers Training College, which he continued until fairly late in life when he decided to become a professional artist. He held his first one-man exhibition in South Africa in 1972, where he sold all of his works, and, in the years since, he has held numerous further successful exhibitions.
