  • Exhibited original ornithological watercolour painting, depicting a Grey Plover in a rock pool on a beach, this original work is entitled 'Young Grey Plover and Reflections', was created in 1991, and is by by the renowned artist, writer, teacher and naturalist John Busby (1928–2015).

     
    John Philip Busby was born in Bradford, and studied at Leeds College of Art and Edinburgh College of Art, where he went on to teach drawing and painting from 1956 until 1988. He moved to East Lothian and was a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, and served as President of the Society of Scottish Artists. A life-long bird watcher, and naturalist, he was a founder member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and led numerous courses both at nationally and internationally. He exhibited widely both at home and abroad, including major retrospectives of his works, and illustrated over 35 books about birds and animals.
