Large, and beautifully presented in a gallery frame, limited edition fine art silkscreen print, depicting a male dressmaker with a dressmaker's mannequin. This limited edition print is entitled 'Altar of Memory', and is by the renowned, highly collectable, Scottish artist Jack Vettriano (1951-2025).
Jack Vettriano was born in Fife, Scotland, and upon left school at 16 years old, he initially worked as a mining engineer. In 1972 he was given a set of watercolour paints as a birthday gift, and he proceeded to teach himself to paint. In 1989, two paintings he submitted to the Royal Scottish Academy’s annual exhibition were sold on the first day, which led to him submitting three more to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 1990, afterwhich his life as a professional artist began, and sell-out solo exhibitions in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong and New York soon followed and in 1994 The Portland Gallery in London began to represent him. 2004 was an exceptional year for him, when his best known painting, The Singing Butler was sold at Sotheby’s for close to £750,000, he was awarded an OBE for Services to the Visual Arts and was the subject of a South Bank Show documentary, and his success went from strength to strength.- If you have any questions about this item, please contact us and we will respond within an hour- Signed and numbered by the artist lower margin- Certificate of authenticity verso- Original 'DeMontfort Fine Art' unique identifying barcoded gallery label verso- Number 220 of only 295 limited edition silkscreen prints ever produced- Beautifully framed, deep-mounted, glazed* and ready to hang, in a heavy, bold, moulded, gilt-trimmed ebonised gallery frame*IMPORTANT: Collection in person is available for this item, or, we will deliver it personally within a 25 mile radius of Harrogate, outside of this area, due to its size, we will remove the glass and send it unglazed via a standard 48 hour delivery service
