Large, superb, original oil painting study, depicting a portrait of a horse, this fabulous original work is by the British artist Gary Benfield (b.1965 ).

Gary Benfield was born in Birmingham, and studied at the Stourbridge College of Art and Wrexham College of Art. He became a professional freelance illustrator in 1986, and went on to set up a studio in London. He initially concentrated mainly on figurative and still life painting, then widened the subject of his paintings after moving to a beautiful part of Ireland. His unique and much sought after paintings are characterised by style and technique, and some are reproduced as limited edition prints.
