- Original pastel painting, depicting a view of a fleet of sailing boats / dinghies out at sea, off Southsea, Hampshire. This atmospheric work is entitled 'Sailing Off Southsea' and is by the English artist Elizabeth A. Smith RSMA (b.1950 ).Elizabeth Anne Smith was born in Hythe, Hampshire, and studied Graphic Design & Illustration at Winchester College of Art and Bournemouth & Poole College of Art. She moved to North Yorkshire in 1975, where she worked from her studio near Northallerton, using mainly pastels, with landscape and marine subjects completed from sketches and reference photographs. In 2001 she was elected to Membership of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and by 2008 she was their Vice President. She is a multi-award winning artist, now living in Oxfordshire, who has exhibited widely, including at The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Pastel Society, The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and The Manchester Academy.- Signed lower right- Original artist's label and exhibition label verso
