  • Very rare, bright and vibrant, limited edition lithographic print depicting a nude, seated and facing away, with a mirror and vase of flowers in the foreground. This colourful work is entitled 'Afternoon in Tuscany 1989', and is by the renowned English artist Edward Piper (1938–1990).
     
    Edward Blake Christmas Piper was the eldest son of the artist John Piper, he studied at Lancing College, the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham and the Slade School of Art in London. He produced photographs for the Shell County Guides and undertook graphic design commissions, however, his real passion was figurative art and in particular painting female nudes. His work rarely comes up for sale and is much sought after, with a number of his lithographs and screenprints featuring in the Tate Gallery collection.
