- Superb original watercolour painting, depicting a West African scene, with a street beggar sleeping on the street, this fabulous painting was created in 1976 by listed English artist Edna Lumb (1931-1992).Edna Isobel Lumb was born in Leeds, and studied at Leeds College of Art, she became a full-time artist in 1964, after initially teaching art in secondary schools. She travelled around the UK, Europe and West Africa for inspiration and subjects for her art. She exhibited widely, and was commissioned by numerous companies and organisations including the National Audit Office, and in the late 70s she was commissioned to produce on-site paintings depicting the conversion of the Covent Garden flower market building into the London Transport Museum.
