Original pastel painting, beautifully presented in a bold gallery frame, depicting a woman lying back and resting on a bed. This beautiful painting has never been hung, is entitled 'Relajante' ('Relaxing'), and is by the renowned Spanish artist Domingo (b.1942 ).

 

Domingo was born in Barcelona, Spain, and initially enjoyed a successful career as a book illustrator. In 1971 he began editing an art magazine in Madrid, the city that proved to be the catalyst for his artistic evolution and his experimentation with pastels, and four years later, in 1975, as his pastel studies became more popular, he decided to pursue a career as a full time artist. His figurative paintings are highly acclaimed and, along with his limited edition prints, command high prices and are extensively collected, as he exhibits widely in high profile venues alongside many of Spain’s most distinguished contemporary artists.
