Original ornithological watercolour painting, depicting a pair of British birds, with a male and female Wigeon foraging, by the renowned wildlife artist Bruce Pearson (b.1950 ). This is a very rare opportunity to own an original work by this acclaimed artist.
Bruce Pearson lives in Cambridge, England, and studied at both The Great Yarmouth College of Art, and The Leicester Polytechnic where he graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 1973. As a professional artist of nearly 50 years, he has travelled across the globe to study wildlife subjects in their natural landscape, producing small sketches or larger more considered drawings or paintings to take back to his studio where the accumulation of his preliminary studys are turned into new works. As well as exhibiting widely both in the UK and overseas, he has written and illustrated a number of books, and was an elected member and president of the Society of Wildlife Artists, and vice president of the Artists for Nature Foundation.- Signed lower right- Original gallery label verso, for 'The Wildlife Art Gallery' in Lavenham, Suffolk- Framed, glazed and ready to hang, in its original mottled brown/gilt moulded frame- Painting size 21cm x 17cm (approx. 8 1/4 inches x 6 3/4 inches)- Frame size 40.5cm x 38.5cm (approx. 16 inches x 15 1/8 inches)- Both painting and frame are in excellent condition- Excellent investment- Original gift
