This atmospheric original painting was created in 1953, and is by the renowned, highly-collectable English artist Ben Maile (1922-2017).

Ben Maile was born in Northamptonshire, where he lived until he was 14 years old, when his family moved to London.  He served in the RAF as a wireless operator in Bomber Command, and then moved to Newquay shortly after 1945.  He was a self-taught artist whose work was popularized over the years through coloured reproduction prints.  He was an internationally-acclaimed artist who exhibited across the world, and whose work features in many significant collections, including those of the British Royal family and major international corporations, in both commerce and industry.
