  • Large original exhibited watercolour painting, depicting a view of the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales, this original work was created in 1999, and is by the Yorkshire artist Barry Claughton (b.1935 ).

    Barry Claughton was born in Leeds, and studied art at St Mark’s and St John’s College in Chelsea.  He began exhibiting and selling his paintings in the 1960s while teaching at Roundhay High School, but didn't become a full time artist until 1989.  He has a broad interest in art, works in oils, acrylics, water colours or pastels, and paints a variety of subjects from landscapes and portraits to animals and transportation.  He has given numerous art demonstrations and talks, and his work is also sold as prints, postcards and greetings cards.
