  • Original oil painting on board, depicting a view across the River Wharfe at Appletreewick in North Yorkshire, with the fast-flowing River Wharfe in the foreground, cows grazing on the opposite bank in the mid-ground, and a rolling landscape beyond.  This original work is entitled 'Harsh Light over the Wharfe', and is by the listed Yorkshire artist Angus Rands (1922-1985)
     
    Angus Bernard Rands was born in Ilkley in Yorkshire and worked as a business representative before becoming a full-time artist in 1960.  He was a self-taught artist who was best known for his landscape paintings of Yorkshire and the North of England
