Alistair J Makinson (b.1961 )
Original oil painting on board, depicting a small herd of Friesian Cows grazing in a buttercup meadow, by the English artist Alistair J Makinson (b.1961 ).
Alistair Makinson was born in Whalley, Lancashire and, upon leaving school, initially sold animal health products and general farming supplies when a period of enforced time off, due to a broken elbow, gave him the opportunity to start painting. This quickly led to exhibitions which were so well received that he turned professional after only a year of painting. After 5 years of landscape painting he began to focus on sporting subjects, and in 1997 was invited to exhibit at The Tryon Gallery Christmas exhibition in St James’s London, attended by H.R.H Princess Margaret, and privatelt viewed by H.M the Queen Mother. He has exhibited widely and his works feature in many private collections, including in those of a number of British Dukes.
