- Large original landscape oil painting on board, depicting a view of a country path, leading alongside a pasture containing two horses, towards farm buildings and a church. This serene painting was created in 1984, and is by the listed English artist Alan Moore (b.1923 ).Alan Moore was born in Leicester, England, and studied at The Gateway School, which is affiliated to Leicester College of Art. He worked in both Painter watercolours and oils, has exhibited at numerous shows, including at The Leicester Society of Artists, Leicester Sketch Club, The Crown Hills Art Society, and at The Nottingham Castle Open Exhibition, and his work is held at The University of Leicester.- Signed, and dated (19)84, lower right- Framed and ready to hang, in a bold, moulded gilt frame- Painting size 60.5cm x 49.5cm (approx. 23 3/4 inches x 19 1/2 inches)- Frame size 70.5cm x 59.5cm (approx. 27 3/4 inches x 23 3/8 inches)- The painting is in excellent condition- The frame has rubbing to the gilt, commensurate with age, and is slightly warped, not noticeable when hanging, and only obvious when the painting is laid on a flat surface, otherwise it is sound and in very good condition- Fabulous centrepiece
